About Orillia Spray Foam Insulation

The Spray Foam Insulation Company For Orillia And The Townships Around It

Orillia Spray Foam Insulation installs closed cell and open cell spray foam insulation in houses, cottages and commercial buildings across Orillia, Severn, Ramara and Oro-Medonte. All of our work is fully insured. We do this one trade and nothing else, which is why we can talk about your particular attic or crawl space instead of insulation in general.

The buildings around here set the work. A century home in the North Ward, a poured basement in West Ridge, a cottage on piers near Washago and a steel shop in the industrial park all need foam for different reasons, in different places, at different thicknesses. Knowing which is which is most of the job.

About Orillia Spray Foam Insulation

Foam Is Only As Good As The Day It Was Sprayed

Bad foam hides for a season. By the second February it has pulled back from the studs, it still smells, and the room behind it is noticeably colder than the rest of the floor. Every one of those failures traces to the day of the install: a substrate that was too cold, one heavy pass instead of several lifts, or equipment that was mixing out of ratio.

So we check the substrate temperature with a thermometer before the first pass. We build thickness in lifts and check it with a depth gauge as we go. We watch the output as it sprays. None of that is a plaque on a wall. It is the routine that decides whether the foam is still tight to the rafters in ten years, and it is the same routine on a rim joist as on a whole new house.

Every Quote Names Product, Thickness And Area

A quote that says "spray foam the basement" for a single number cannot be compared with anything. Ours lists each surface separately with the product, the thickness in inches, the square footage and the price, plus the thermal barrier or coating that Ontario's code requires over foam in a living space. If you hold another quote, we will price the same scope line for line so the two can be read side by side. If ours is higher, you will be able to see exactly where.

What We Will Tell You Even When It Costs Us The Job

We will tell you when the garage door is the bigger problem than the garage walls. We will tell you when a solid masonry wall in an old house should not be foamed from the inside because it needs to dry that way. We will tell you when a crawl space floods and the foam will not fix the flooding. We will tell you when the batts already in your attic are dry and sound and only need a sealing pass under them. A contractor who sprays everything he is asked to spray is not one you want in your house.

Working Across Orillia, Severn, Ramara And Oro-Medonte

The service area is the city and the three townships around it, including the cottages on Lake Simcoe, Lake Couchiching, Bass Lake and the Severn River. Boat access, rock lots and narrow cottage roads are part of the week. The service pages describe each kind of job; the attic, basement and cottage pages cover the three we are called about most.

What We Install

What We Insulate

These nine services are available anywhere in Orillia, Severn, Ramara and Oro-Medonte.

Attic Insulation

Attic spray foam insulation seals the air leaks in the ceiling and insulates over them in one visit, which is what stops ice dams and bare roof stripes on Orillia houses. All of our work is fully insured, and the quote is written before anything is sprayed.

Basement Insulation

Basement spray foam insulation puts closed cell foam directly on the foundation wall, where it insulates, blocks vapour and seals the joint between concrete and wood in one product. The work is insured, and every basement quote names the thickness in writing.

Crawl Space Insulation

Crawl space spray foam insulation seals the walls and the rim joist with closed cell foam, closes the vents and turns a cold, damp box under the floor into part of the heated house. Insurance covers the work, and the quote covers the ground sheet as well as the foam.

Garage Insulation

Garage spray foam insulation makes an attached garage stop pulling heat out of the house beside it and above it, and makes a detached garage usable all winter. The work is insured, and the quote separates the ceiling, the shared wall and the outside walls so you can choose what to do.

New Construction Insulation

New construction spray foam insulation seals and insulates a new house, addition or cottage while the framing is open, so the envelope is right once and never has to be opened again. Insurance covers the work, and we schedule around the framer, the electrician and the drywall crew.

Cottage and Waterfront Insulation

Cottage and waterfront spray foam insulation turns a seasonal building on Lake Simcoe, Lake Couchiching, Bass Lake or the Severn River into one that can be lived in through an Orillia winter. Insurance covers the work, and the quote is written in the order the work should be done so you can do it in stages.
